About the Artist . . .
Marion Dawson Phillips has lived on the Eastern Shore of Maryland for almost 15 years. Originally from Alexandria, Virginia, she earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia and her graduate degree from Salisbury University.
Her passion for animals, particularly dogs and horses, has always been her inspiration for her paintings. Even as a child she spent many hours drawing when not out riding horses or playing with her dog.
Marion started painting pet portraits for her friends and family about 5 years ago as “therapy” during a particularly stressful and transitional time in her life.
She continued to paint as time would allow and decided in January 2008 to resign her full time job and start a pet portrait business. The rest, as they say, will MAKE history! |
